Nyos® QUANTUM® goes Mobius™: The QUANTUM® EQ protein skimmer

The Nyos® QUANTUM® protein skimmer gets smart: You can easily and wirelessly connect and control the QUANTUM® EQ protein skimmer via your iOS or Android smartphone. The features of the QUANTUM® EQ are :

Control via Mobius™ and Apex Fusion App

The QUANTUM® EQ can be controlled via the Mobius™ App, sharing the same user interface as your Ecotech Marine® and Aquaillumination® pumps and LED lighting. You can also integrate the QUANTUM® EQ in the Apex Fusion app from Neptune Systems® using the MXM Mobius™ Wireless Control Module. Both apps are available from the App Store and Google Play.

Preset templates

To make operation as simple and intuitive as possible, you can use preset templates in Mobius™:

Performance Mode

The performance of the skimmer pump is set to 70% and you can make the fine adjustment yourself.

Plankton Saving Mode

The skimmer performance is reduced at night so that natural plankton, which is mainly active at night, is protected.

Nutrient Export Reduction Mode

If the aquarium has too low nutrient levels, the Nutrient Export Reduction Mode permanently reduces the performance of the skimmer.

Individual scenes

You can integrate the QUANTUM® EQ into scenes in Mobius™ so that it reduces the pump speed during a water change or feeding, for example, and then increases it back to the preset speed level.

Smart safety features

If a snail shell blocks the intake, the pump shuts down, allowing water to flow out of the skimmer and removing the snail shell. If the pump cannot be restarted, it shuts down automatically, the RGB LED in the skimmer flashes red, and a notification appears in the app.

LED color code in the skimmer indicates pump speed

An RGB LED in the skimmer indicates the pump speed via a color code and can also be used as a flashlight for maintenance work in the cabinet (patent pending).

Steplessly adjustable

The pump speed of the QUANTUM® EQ can be adjusted from 1 to 100%. Different pump speeds can be set throughout the day in the app (Schedules).

Energy-saving 24V pumps

The QUANTUM® EQ uses energy-saving low-voltage pumps made in Europe. Thanks to the intelligent control system, the pump consumes up to 20% less power and is 10% more powerful compared to the non-controllable QUANTUM® pump.
